Newark in Nottingham is some distance away from Byton in Herefordshire about 130 miles - along way away to prove a connection. The marriage in Ludlford Shropshire in 1792 would be more probable as that is about 15 miles away from Byton, but Milec is asking how to prove it
(what details does the 1792 entry in the parish register give - are they both of the parish, is the marriage by banns or licence, who were the witnesses)?

EDWARD BEAUMONT
ELIZABETH POWELL
Marriage:  13 NOV 1792   Ludford, Shropshire

The changing spellings of the surname for the children being baptised in Byton to Edward and Elizabeth pre and post the 1800 marriage in Nottinghamshire - already given in full in previous post.

Beaman 1798
Beaman 1800 (Edward Beaumont in Shobdon on the 1851 census with older brother John who was baptised 1798)
Beamont 1802 (William Beaumont in Kimbolton on the 1851 census)
Beamont 1804
Beaumont 1806
and Beaumont thereafter (both Richard and Aaron Beaumont baptised 1808 and 1812 appearing on the 1851 census as Beamont)

Have any other children's baptisms been found for Edward and Elizabeth in parishes between Ludford and Byton, post the 1792 marriage date but pre the start of the baptisms in Byton in 1798 (bearing in mind of the two baptisms in 1798 in Byton one may be a late baptism - they may not be twins)?

Regards

Valda

Beaumont, Thomas (1754-1835) the Anglican clergyman was from Nottinghamshire. He left a Preogative Court of Canterbury will

Will of Reverend Thomas Beaumont, Clerk of East Bridgeford , Nottinghamshire 21 October 1835 PROB 11/1852

Ann Beaumont of Kington was in Kington with her brother James, a shoemaker and sister Alathea on the 1861 census - all born Kington. According to the IGI they were all children of Matthew and Elizabeth Beaumont who had children baptised in Kington between 1800 and 1822. There were 53 Beaumonts and 23 Beamans (including Aaron) born Herfordshire on the 1861 census, 4 of which all men, claimed a birthplace of Byton.

Sarah would fit weill with the spelling of the surname changing

SARAH BEMAN
Christening:  19 MAR 1793   Upper Kinsham, Hereford
Father:  EDWARD BEMAN
Mother:  ELIZABETH

If Mary is not a possible who is she the daughter of? Do you have death dates for either Edward or Elizabeth?

In Kimbolton an Elizabeth is also having illegitimate children.

WILLIAM BEAUMONT
Christening:  21 AUG 1825   Kimbolton, Hereford
Mother:  ELIZABETH BEAUMONT

JAMES BEAUMONT
Christening:  16 DEC 1827   Kimbolton, Hereford
Mother:  ELIZABETH BEAUMONT

ELIZABETH BEAUMONT
JOHN BIRCH
Marriage:  30 JAN 1834   Kimbolton, Hereford

So is she another child of Edward and Elizabeth born between Sarah in 1793 and John and Edward in 1798?
A possible fit for Elizabeth on censuses

1841 census HO107 419/4 enumeration schedule 6
Coppy Castle Pencombe Herefordshire
John Birch 57 Farmer not born Herefordshire
Elizabeth Birch 50  Born Herefordshire
Richard Birch 6 Born Herefordshire
Mary Birch 3 Born Herefordshire
William Beaman 16 Ag lab born Herefordshire

1851 census HO107 1980 folio 6
Pencombe Herefordshire
John Birch 60 Head Married  Farm Labourer Old Radnor Radnorshire
Elizabeth Birch 54  Wife Married Kinsom Herefordshire
next household
Richard Birch 15 Farm Servant Humber Herefordshire

1861 census RG10 1827 folio 71
Coppy Castle Pencombe Herefordshire
Elizabeth Birch 60 Head Widow Coombe Herefordshire
Richard Birch 25 Son Unmarried Humber Herefordshire

Deaths Sep 1866
BIRCH  Elizabeth  72  Bromyard  6a 291

The National Burial Index has coverage of Kimbolton parish registers up to 1839 - no Elizabeth (though a fit for her son Moses) which makes this civil registration death in 1840 more a possibility for her if she died in Kimbolton.

Deaths Mar 1840
BEAUMONT  Elizabeth    Leominster  26 161

Getting the exact ages at death of Elizabeth and Edward would help in starting a baptism search for either of them.
Are there any further details given in the register for the Ludford marriage?

EDWARD BEAUMONT
ELIZABETH POWELL
Marriage:  13 NOV 1792   Ludford, Shropshire

Hi Milliec,

I am descended from Aaron BEAUMONT (1808-1871). I think that his brother Moses died in Dec 1830 at Kimbolton.

I have done some research on the family, but still have several blanks and question marks. I think that Edward was born in Wigmore in 1770, and his parents were Thomas BEAMOND and Mary THOMAS who married in 1769 in Leinthall Starkes.

I'd be happy to share further details
