Hannah Whitehouse Tipton/ West Bromwich
« on: Wednesday 21 May 08 22:23 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I have Hannah Whitehouse married to William Whitehouse in censuses from 1841.
1841 has her born Staffordshire, whilst others state Birmingham.
In 1841 HO107; Piece 982;   Folio: 42; Page: 33 she has daughters Ann 6 yrs; Charlotte 2 yrs and Amelia 1 yr and goes on to have several more children.
I have one birth certificate for Caleb 1849 where Hannah's name is:
Hannah Whitehouse late Humphries formerly Gorsman.
I can find nothing re Gorsman in Family Search and very little in Ancestry.

Does anyone have any ideas?

thanks
heywood

Hiya Haywood

As you said nothing seems to come up under Gorsman. Maybe it wasn't written on the certificate correctly and its Grossman?

On Ancestry there is a Patrick and Bridget Grosan both b Ireland in Warwickshire 1851 - might be another avenue

thanks - I couldn't get a birth certificate for my great grandmother Sophia (several  years ago now) so I got Caleb's. I think now I'm back looking at this family, I will send for another child- perhaps the earliest possible to see if the info is the same.
thanks again
