Many thanks. I have located an e mail address and asked them whether they are the same school and if they still have records from when it was first opened.

Hi there,
I recently found a book in an opshop its from 1902
on the inside of the front page reads:
Malvern ladies' college.
Valetta Street
it was given to a student on a prize day dated December 14th 1902
the principal was Miss Murray.
I got curious so I did a little digging her full name is miss Carla Murray from Tasmania Australia.
Malvern ladies' college was regarded as one of the most prestigious private colleges.
the address of the school is 14 Valetta street Malvern Victoria. it has now been turned into apartments you can find them on realestate .com.au
and out of curiosity what was your grand mothers name?
I have the name of the student it awarded to.
I live in Melbourne and the book is reason I found your enquire.

Thank you for the information. My grandmother was Eleanor Bradshaw. I believe her sister, Emily may have gone there as well. I have got a couple of books that were awarded to my grandmother in 1890/1. She would have left soon after this time and her sister before this. I have been in touch with the school. They are always interested in pieces of historical information. Unfortunately my grandmother died in 1919 from the Spanish 'flu. My grandfather returned to the UK with my 3yr old mother, her brother and sister.
