Does anyone have information on surviving members of the Stubbs clan?

Hi Mosh

I hadn't seen this before. I have a wealth of information about the descendants of a William Stubbs who was born about 1755 (don't know where) but who is from Ruddington. He is one of my brick walls, I can't get any further back but have lots forward.

A lady named Jane from Eastbourne has been a great help to me.

She has been researching the Stubbs name worldwide for over 10 years.

I can send you her sites email address if it will help.

Best wishes

Thanks, yes please.

Although I think I may know her already if it is Jane Stubbs who is doing the one name study. If it is, she is stuck with William as well and I have all the lines coming down from him. If she is one and the same of course don't send me the details.

I have an ancestor who in 1777 decided to write up the last 100 years of the family's history and also record every subsequent birth, marriage and death in the family. He is the sort of ancestor one adores! William Stubbs married this man's niece and he recorded this but simply described his niece as marrying William Stubbs of Ruddington and mentioned their future home. However, he did list all their children and their marriages and then we were able to pick up the other lines from the census. My own line continued the habit started by my ancestor so we had our own. I know at least two  other lines did the same. So at the moment William is a solid brick wall and really my only hope is some other Stubbs seeker finding that William is a brother or son of a relative of theirs

I expect that ancestor would have loved rootschat.

It is the same Jane Stubbs, so I won't send you her details.

Good luck with the search
