Sarah in 1841
« on: Saturday 28 June 08 11:59 BST (UK) »
Could someone please explain what 'Mon' could mean as an address? And was Sarah living at the same place as the Cole family? Ann Cole was born Ann Chilvers, probably the daughter of Charles Chilvers and Mary Lincoln. I think Sarah Chilvers may have been born Sarah Brown, I do not know other details, nor her relationship to Ann - grandmother???

The previous page has as addresses-Seymour? Green, Halfway House and ? Hall. This page has 'Mon' and the other 4 households are 'do' (ditto).

The reference is HO/107/758/3 Parish Dickleburgh.
Thanks
Sandra

Could the Mon as you have stated read MOOR?

Hi,
I think Judi's right - the enumeration area includes the Moor,
If you look at the list at the top of the image page and click on Dickleburgh you get the page showing the districts covered by the enumerator - click on 'view description of the enumeration district' (district 5 in this case - as shown on the list) and it tells you all the area covered.
Hope this helps.
Paulene :)

there's nothing like a bit of advice to give a bit of focus!
If I had looked properly, I would have noted the 'r' in Sarah is the same as in the address AND I did know there is a Dickleburgh Moor.
thanks Paulene and Judi for helping me see the connection. That's the value of forum folk and their suggestions.

Don't worry - we all get like that - I'm a bit like that this evening - can't see the wood for the trees. ;)
