Hmmm.. This is rather sparse information. I am thinking there might be other points of entry other than New York that I should investigate. Any suggestions?

Thats him - its got to be.

Could you have a go at finding William Devonshire  b 1840ish
Mary A. Devonshire b 1840ish and Emily Devonshire b 1860ish.

Also an Anthony Mutton and a Samuel Mutton b 1840s/1850s.

They were all the same family and I am interested to see oif they all went together or at what time intervals.

Thanks,
Fizzy

Hi Fizzy
Bits and pieces found on NY passenger arrivals

DEVONSHIRE
Miss (no first name), age 30, Arr. Sept 1890, City of Berlin
William,(b 1839) arr 28 May 1866, City of Manchester
Mary (b 1837) arr 18 May 1868, City of Paris
(No listing for "Emily" per se.
BUT there a Charles, married to Emily on the 1880 US census.)

MUTTON
Samuel, b 1847, arr 23 Oct 1877, "Spain"
Samuel, b 1870, arr 22 Apr 1866, "City of Rome

Antonie, b 1838, arr 24 Jun 1868, "Nebraska"
I think I've looked this one up before for a post on Rootschat, possibly one of yours... ;)

Grub

The William and Mary look good as they did leave before the 1871 census.

The Antonie wasnt my Anthony unfortunately.

Samuel I shall check on.

Have you got the details of where William and Mary sailed from like you had for Charles please ?

Can I ask - do you have access to the US Federal censuses from 1880 onwards at all ?

Thanks,
Fizzy

It makes it so real seeing it set out like this, dont you think ?

Do you know anything about access to federal censuses as I see you found Charles in the 1880 one.

Thanks very much
