A Jones family

I have been trying to find information about this family from the Clocaenog and Derwen area.I know my great(2) grandfather was Hugh Jones.According to the 1851 census he was born at Clocaenog around 1788 ( many possibilities ) .He married Elizabeth  ? circa 1812 at   ?  .The family lived in both parishes at various times and had strong links with Derwen Church.
I am now trying to persue him through his only son - Thomas - born around 1823 at Clocaenog and he was  living with his father at the time of the 1851 census - mother having died shortly after his birth.Thomas married Jane Katharine Edwards on 11.3.1851 at Derwen Church and from then forward I have all necessary information. Two of his three sisters were baptised at Derwen Church in 1817 and 1820. I am very hopeful that Rootschatters will shed some light on this family and I would be most grateful as would my American cousin. Many thanks - John Ashley.
