It would appear that your grandfather George (born 1913ish?) in Parkgate is my grandfathers brother.

I know 'The Entry' in Doagh very well.
I had family live there for many years.
The church is indeed Methodist.
The Hall next door to it is not the Masonic Hall though. Its the Orange Hall.

A lovely rootschatter took pictures of the area for me and my sister and I managed a trip to the area a few years ago.

It would now appear that you and Loopster are related to us...... as our mother was niece to one of Georges brothers.

Through my family history research, I was able to contact living relatives from the Ballyclare and  Doagh area. A trip, from Australia, last year enabled me to vist Doagh and meet these lovely kinfolk.

Re Porters My great aunt was Jane Porter born 1871 married Alexander Porter a farmer they had six children one of the sons owned the pub in the main street Parkgate  the Tweedie my fifth cousin was a Porter who married a John Stevenson a farmer hope this my help.

I live outside doagh and know of some Gaults who are farriers and a Gault who used to own a corner shop in nearby Burnside. They are def related but just not sure if they are cousins or brothers
