I can leave you in peace now....well until the next time ;D :-X ;D

What about the name  Davies, my lot had a habit of marrying a Davies and then in turn they married an Evans ::), that's why I thought I would never find them.

Really felt like sending Steve a cyber kiss, but being new to the site, thought I had better not. ;)

Kind regards,

Ambers :)

I can't understand why she didn't get buried in Soar Chapel, as it is so close to where they lived.

IAmbers :)

Hi Ambers so glad you have found them.:)

Regarding why they were buried a few miles away -Most of mine were buried in churches a couple of  miles away from where they lived. It can depend on on where "the family church" is. For example it may have been their family (the generation before) church - so they themselves carry on using that particular church . I can't  think of one of my families who is buried ,or  baptised in very close walking distance from where they lived to the church, only one that I can think of is one of my hubby's families.

A couple of miles is not lot really, I used to regularly walk to work each day which was just over 2 miles away from my home - it only used to take  only about 25 minutes, and that wasn't how the crow flew either.

Kind regards :)

Hello Cell. :)

As Cas reminded me, it was you that lead us to the Tonyrefail link, and kindly would have used your Credits (had you had some) for the Family History on-line to help me....many thanks, it was Teamwork 8) without you both I wouldn't have had a clue.

I had forgotton how far we all walked as children, my school was a least two miles away.  Possibly it was the closest Methodist Church to them, which I believe is what they were. Both Susannah and David were both from Neath, but as the children were all born Penygraig I guess they were  all Baptised in that Chapel....we do have a Methodist Calvanastic Preacher in the family.

I would never have found Susannah (sen) death as she was registered as Susan. She was listed on the census as a child as Susan Davis but became Susannah Evans after her marriage ???  ...both certs sent for last night :D

Kind regards Ambers :)

I visit Tonyrefail & Penygraig daily.  If there are any photographs you want taken of any locations there, let me know...

Hi SS from the Rhondda :)...my notifications aren't working, otherwise would have answered earlier

This is very kind of you...I am so grateful for the help I am getting :-*

I would love to see where they lived :). I am assuming that as he was a Builder, that they would have lived in at least one of the houses he built.

1891 census says, 22 Tylacelyn Hill
1881 census...no name for the road >:(
1871 census just Penygraig but it was the first house after 14 Cadrie idris?

My granddad lived at 59 Kenry Street in 1901

I would be grateful for a photograph of any of the places.

Kind regards,

Ambers :D

Just a quick note to say I have read your message. Will take some photos as soon as I can (when it stops raining!)

Could you give me the census references to assist in locating addresses.
