Looking for any connections with Samuel Burrows,a Miller, from Woodbridge.
He was my great grandfather and was wondering if there are any brothers and sisters.
Married to Sarah of Llanvaply,Monmouthshire
Thanks

Hi Chrisb

I couldnt find anything for Samuel Burrows before the  1881 census.
It does say that he had a son called Lewis Burrows b 1867 in New Jersey State, America.
Could he and his family possibly have been in America at the time of previous census?
If you havent already got the info from the 1881 census, i will be happy to post it for you.

Was he definitely born in 1831 as in the 1841 census there is a 3yr old Samuel living in Woodbridge.

Re: Samuel Burrows b.1831 Woodbridge or SIBTON Suffolk

Cookie/Sue..Thanks for your replies...I originally located Samuel on the 1881 census living in Shifnal,Shropshire as a miller.
The only Samuel I can find born anywhere near 1831 in Woodbridge is an 1826 Samuel born to James (Jas) and Matilda Woolnough...now if you follow my tree back there are a few Matildas sprinkled around so it seems we have the right parents but the date is a bit awry.
I did find another Samuel living in Burgh,Suffolk in the 1851 census listed as a journeyman Miller aged 19 which tallied with an 1831 birth but he was born in SIBTON near Ipswich which is quite a long way from Woodbridge.
Would anyone be able to look him up in Christenings for me in SIBTON please?
HIs marriage certificate says his Dad was a James Burrows and he was a farmer

I'm unsure if you have the 1841 for the last Samuel that you quoted? but the listing will assist in finding the family in 1851.........
