Foley - Killemlagh
« on: Friday 04 February 05 20:15 GMT (UK) »
Looking for any links to Patrick James Foley born 1845, possibly in Killemlagh. Emigrated to England and married Mary Rouse  c1875. Had egg/poultry shop in Middlesbrough and children - James, William, Mary, Rose, Catherine and Patrick who died as a baby. Any help greatly appreciated. Kath.

Hello Kath,

You may find a connection to your Foley ancestors in Griffith's Valuation of Co. Kerry which took place in 1852. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths.php

Your location states that you are in the North East so I presume this is England.  You may be interested to know that two RootsChat meets are being planned in Ireland. One on 29th July this year http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=149364.msg684435#msg684435
and one in Dublin next summer.  http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,148893.0.html

All the Best, Chris

Thanks, Christopher. I have searched a lot of Griffiths valuations but really I have hit a brick wall. The only clue I have to location is a census transcript which states Killelagh but this could be any location beginning with "Kill". I know there is a Killelagh in Derry but have drawn blanks with every enquiry. Will keep searching! Thanks. Kath
