   Always happy to help Cienna.....

Think of it as a little boost to get you going. Once you are hooked you wont be able to get enough. Tricia will vouch for that .

  Best wishes

Hi Cienna, my name is Carol Brooker and I am the only daughter of the late Bertram James Brooker. He was born in Enfield on 7th February 1912. He did in the Royal Hobart (Tasmania)Hospital in June 1987 as a result of injuries from a car accident in East Devonport. He was survived by his wife Irene Emily May (Rowan) who passed away on 12th December, 2009, Irene's son, Jim and myself. I know my Grandfather was David and I have an exercise book which he wrote in from January 1883 to 1886 while he was a London Bobby (PC 226) and my grandmother was Eleanor Szamborski, a polish princess whose parents ran the Krakau conservatory of music. I never met any of Dad's family but I know that he was closest to his sister's Daisy and Doris. I only ever heard of his brother once, when Mum called me in London to tell me that he had passed away. That was about 1979 from memory.
I just happened to google Dad's name and roots chat came up with your information. I haven't got as far as figuring out who you are but now that I have found you and this site I will delve further. Dad was a very private man and his family evidently did not approve of him marrying my Mum. He used to receive Birthday and Christmas cards from his sisters and went to visit them whenever we went to England which was every time he had long service leave. He migrated to Sydney, Australia in 1948. I think it was probably because of the family but he said that he was offered a transfer by the Standard Telephone co to either Wales or NSW and that he fancied the boat trip. Hopefully I have filled in some gaps for you. Regards Carol Brooker

Hello Carol,

Thank you for your message, apologies for not getting back to you sooner, I was traveling after recuperating from an illness.

I am not related to you in any way, I was helping another lady with the Brooker family but have lost contact with her in the last 3 years, I have tried to contact her to no avail....

I wish you every success in the research of you family...it's very addictive....good luck.

Regards

Cienna
