I am researching the above man who played for Wolves and Bournemouth in 1940s-1950s. He was born in the Ross on Wye Area in January 1928. I am trying to verfiy any details about him. His father may be Edwin J Stephens also born in the Ross area, and his mother's surname was Maxted.

Anyone have information would be very much appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Hi JPG,

There is a birth ref for Arnold E Stephens for Mar qtr 1928 (Ross, 6a 679) Mothers surname Maxted.  If you bought that certificate, you would get confirmation of who was Arnold's father.

Edwin J Stephens married a Maxted in Dec qtr 1927 (Ross 6a 1136)
