I will send you the name of the Ballydougan researcher in case he doesn't see this.  Samuel, I think, was claimed by 2 different families, but the link with Davids are too strong for him not to be in our tree. At the time I talked with the researcher, he had Thomas or David born before 1780 and married to a Carson.  Son John went to Virginia, USA, son Thomas had children James, Samuel and John, son David who married Alice Dickson with many kids, Samuel who married Jenny Adamson, dau Martha who married Wm Maskimon or Maskinnon and James.

Your William was said to marrry Margaret Ferris by the other family, and is thought to have children Ann per other family, John, Samuel, and James.
