Ann GRUNNAH b. Freystrop (i) 1849
« on: Sunday 11 January 09 11:51 GMT (UK) »
Could SKS help me sort out the muddle I seem to have got into concerning the above lady?

In 1849 she is registered at birth as Ann GRONO, in the 1851 Census for Freystrop she is registered as Ann GRUNER, in the 1861 for Freystrop as Ann GRUNNCH and then in the 1871 for Freystrop as Ann GRONNAH.

I thought I had tracked her down in the 1881 Census as being married to a William BEVAN b. Ambleston in 1838 but am now having serious doubts that I have gone down the wrong route.

I so hope someone can please help me....thank you.

If you cant find the Marriage - try for one of the kids Birth Certs ?

The only close find I had was:-

Marriages Dec 1871

Gronow  Ann    Cardigan  v 11b p 25  to  Llewellyn  David

and they arent obvious on the census.

Whose birth certificates? Would it show both father and mother on Ancestry?

RG11/ 5417; Folio: 28; Page: 1 - Freystrop

all kids born there ... so Haverford West would be the District ..

no, the parents names, and especially Mum's maiden name would only be on the Cert, which you need to purchase.

Have you tried Parish Records ?

I think that perhaps I have got the wrong information after all and do apologize.

Next time I make a trip to the Record Office at Haverfordwest I shall have a look at the Parish Records.

Again, many thanks
