It was the Rutherford I was interested in and I have a thing where I take photos of all Rutherfords in case the fit in somewhere

I will be going back to Minto in the near future and to Ancrum (its got a great pub) so I look out for more - but must go to the graveyard first then the pub  :) ;) ;D ;D

I think I may have seen some in Ancrum, I'll have a look

Thank you Andrew...will take your suggestion and invert...

Now...I have RUTHERFORD'S and do not know if you are interested.
They tie in twice with the JAMES OLIVER Auctioneer of Thornwood Hawick.

Thomas Rutherford & 2 wives Magdelen Dryden marr Nov 1 1787 and then Jane Elliot marr Mar 5 1791..

Their son Robert Rutherford 1789-1838 married Jean / Jane WALDIE...Then one of Robert and Jean's daughter Mary married a William Rutherford in 1838.

Hi ajjbc,

Just came across your post.

I have Hoggs in my family tree, but no George.  Sorry.

My g-grandmother was a Mary Hogg b1865 in Langshaw, Melrose, Roxburghshire.  Her father was Andrew Hogg b1832 in Roxburgh, Roxburghshire and his father was William Hogg b1813 in Roxburgh, Roxburghshire.

Its a bit of a longshot, cos there were alot of Hoggs in that part of the world at that time, but have you any of the above in your tree?

My Rutherfords lived in the Hobkirk/Bonchester Bridge area around the 1800's and apparently near Minto though still to prove the latter

Those photos are from Roxburgh churchyard where there were several Hoggs

May I ask if you have any other Hogg photos from Wilton Churchyard?
My GGGGrandparents Robert Hogg d 1896 and Mary Mc Bain d 1933 are supposed to be buried there.
Thankyou
Barbara
