Bainbridge, William_Westmoreland

My gg-g father John Bainbridge arrived in Australia in late 1860s
John was born in Knarseborough in 1859.
was son of a William Bainbridge born in Cumbria_Kirkby Stephen(?)
So far have not been able to locate this particular William. Can u help?

Welcome to rootschat. 
May, just maybe, your William married young and his birth thus crept into the civil records  .
Check there just in case he's listed there... go to freebmd  .

The 1861 census should show William's birth place so that will be the next place to look for him.  You know that John would have been 2 by 1861 so that will help identify the correct Bainbridge family, hopefully.
The census will also give Willima's age.
