Hi Jack,

William C and Elizabeth are Abraham's parents. Looks like they moved between Wales and Somerset.

1871 census

RG10/2506 Folio 24 Page 42
Greenway Bush Lane
Bedminster

WEBBER William C Head 33 b Yatton Somerset Carpenter
WEBBER Elizabeth Wife 34 Mar b Quantocks Head Somerset
WEBBER Mary Dau 7 b Axbridge
WEBBER Abraham 5 b Puxton
WEBBER William Son 3 b Huish
WEBBER Elizabeth 1 b Bristol Gloucs

I am not spotting Abraham and Annie in 1911 so far so perhaps they are in Wales which is not available yet. Did the whole family emigrate or only Cyril?

Somerset is in England Jack

Hi Jack,

Many years ago, I moved directly from South Bristol (Somerset) to Pontypridd (12 miles from Cardiff, in S. Wales) so I can assure you that Somerset is in England  ;D

There is a map here, with the counties on it, which may help you with researches in Britain.

Jack,

I can see Cyril's immigration is listed at

http://www.findmypast.com/

This is a pay per view site.

WEBBER Cyril D b 1903 arrived Melbourne 1925

There are other Webbers arriving in 1925 but without purchasing the information I cannot tell you who/if any of the other were with him.

Cheers Kris  :)

Hi Kris
I was looking for Sydney NSW - not Melbourne, I supose it pays to research the whole country etc.

1925 - this is interesting - so he must of travelled to NSW as in 1936 he married in south of Sydney.  Im Assuming his parents never came with him, maybe a couple sibblings or so.  They might have died before this time (1925).

Once again - many thanks

Jack

The info below was pointed out to me by Kris  -  It seems that Ann's husband Abraham was not living with her, he had other children to her - was he living elsewhere or maybe away on work - at the time of the census.

Further more - I tried search a death certificate for both Abraham and his wife Ann - but couldn't locate a registration.  Ann died sometime after the 1920's

It says on the marriage certificate I have that William Cann Webber was a Carpenter and Alfred James Rice was a gardener

Hi Jack

This is a very long shot but try getting in touch with the "Weston & District FHS" as I know there members interests should contain the name Webber - just type WFHS into google & that should find them

All the very best
