Need Help Deciphering a Name!!

Hi all

Can anyone hazard a guess at this ladys surname..the one ..Mary the visitor

She is a visitor in the home of John Nunnery

For some unknown reason I cant post the piece!!

Hi Failsafe,

The name you posted is more or less what the census provider transcribes it as, but do you think it's accurate when you look at the actual image? Looking at the other "J"s on the page, I really don't think the first letter of Mary's name can be a J. Also, it seems to me there's quite clearly an "lk" in the middle?

I agree with Tati  - the best interpretation is Foulkes. It's definitely ?oulkes and the first letter is not like any other J on the page

Hi everyone

Thanks for giving me a hand with this and I think you could be right as soon as I looked at it again after reading your comments I defo saw Foulkes..right im going off to see if I can find her elsewhere to see if she is possibly related to these Mummery/Nunnery families
