Taking the clue of Scottish People and the DOB:

Williams, Claud Ellery, 1907, Angus, Glamis.

His father must have been chaplin to:

Claude Bowes-Lyon, 13th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne (1824-1904)

Claude George Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne (1855-1944) - father of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, Queen Elizabeth

Regards,
Deryck

In 1901 in Scotland, as transcribed by Ancestry:

Parish: Glamis; ED: 3; Page:  9; Line: 14

Reed Claude Williams, 31
Caroline Ellen Williams, 28

Glamis Muirhouse, The Parsonage, Glamis Cartte

Clerk In Holy Wders, I wonder why he was in Holy Waders? ;)

John - I've found that 1982 death now thanks - and now I know where I was going wrong with my sources - panic over! With Deryck's new information I think we can forget about a Pontypool connection.

Deryck - well spotted to get past those transcription errors! Presumably Reed should read Reverend or something similar.

I think I've found them in 1911!

In Stow, Suffolk:
M Hewitt GOODWYN, 26
M I Hewitt GOODWYN, 3

I think the full details here would be interesting. As far as I can tell from the index there is one other person in the household: William H. Runeckles, but possibly they're just renting rooms from  him or something.

Another breakthrough! Well done Jorose.

Apparently MI Hewitt Goodwyn's birth place is shown as "London" .

Brilliant, jorose! :)

M Hewitt Goodwyn appears to have been married 6 years by 1911.
