New daughters?
« on: Sunday 03 May 09 17:52 BST (UK) »
Hi there

I have just gotten hold of a will of my great great Uncle, George Lloyd, of
Much Wenlock. Now i have him on all the census from 1841 to 1911 and i
thought i knew of all his children from 2 marriages. In his will there is a
mention of 2 more daughters. First is Sybil Moore, married to a Herbert
Moore and then there is a Constance Thursfield married to a Arthur Greville
Thursfield. My problem is i cannot find any trace of either of them or their
husbands, im having problems with Free BMD, is it me?
Could someone please try on my behalf? Sorry ut i have no other info on
them, age, where they lived or married etc..
George lived all his 84 years in Much Wenlock so i presume the girls where
born there.

Although Arthur and Constance's marriage isn't easy to find, but ther are two marriages of interest

Thomas Greville Thursfield Q1 1867 Conway and
Greville Richard Thursfield Q3 1902 Conway

It would seem to me worth while investigating these people as I would suspect a relationship there somewhere.

Hi IJL

There is this marriage:
1906   June Qu Madeley 6a  1403
LLOYD Sybil Madeline K     to   MOORE Albert

and this birth registration - probably much too late!
1912  June Qu Madeley 6a   1063
LLOYD Constance E  mother's maiden name  Bailey

it may help if you could give the possible mothers' maiden names - and the dates of George Lloyd's two marriages, just to give an idea of age ranges for the girls

Hi all  :)

Interestingly, the Greville Thursfield household have a son Arthur B M Thursfield:
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=uki1881&indiv=try&h=18258681

who marries a Muriel C A Lloyd in 1910 (St George Han Square)

This Muriel seems to have been registered at birth as Muriel Constance A Lloyd (Dec 1887 Madeley)
(and a quick search of the 1911 census index shows she was born Wenlock)

Muriel and Sybil are both staying with their grandmother Keziah Halden in Ruabon in 1891 (RG12/4613 76 17)

 :)

and in 1901 they are still in Ruabon, at a boarding school, as Madeleine age 15 and Constance age 13

Well done, Tati (as always)  :)

Had just found the Thursfield/Muriel marriage and was also about to ask IJL if any of the known daughters had middle initials to match the Constance/Sybil names

Oops, then the Madeline at the boarding school in 1901 was the Madeline born 1885 - sorry!

Indeed, Sybil M K H Lloyd is at a different boarding school in 1901, in Wrexham.
