Hi Tazzie

I dont know if he could marry his brothers wife ??? ???. Thing is there is a John Iball living at Mold on the 1841, born 1796 ish with an Elizabeth aged 50 and four children. Might be something to do with the family, and then again it might not :-\ :-\

Everyone,

This is a great help.
You would think that an unusual name like Iball would be easy but it beginning to sound like Smith and Jones. And they all seem to come from Bistre, Buckley.

Thanks to everyone for their input

  Hi Ricky
There is a member sub for George Ibell 1817 Hawarden to John & Mary..... which would make him John jnr's brother but the age is out for it to be him in 1851.
He could be a cousin but only the cert will tell as it would have the info to prove it.
Even though it was illegal to marry your dead husbands/ wifes   brother or sister until the early 1900's I have 3 in my family and 1 in hubbies family. 2 were in small villages where the vicar knew everyone .... but life went on.

Having had a quick look through parish registers. Iball was quite a common name in Mold, Buckley, Bistre area.

Paul.

!
I have spent the past 9 days doing the family history for Jean Iball 1943, back Edward 1914, Walter 1884, Paul 1857, Edward 1834, John 1792.

George & John were NOT brothers as John's parents were George Iball, collier & Sarah Ellis. The father of  Mary's 2nd 1842 husband, George, was a Thomas Ibell - from that m.c.

But have not yet discovered the relationship between her 1st husband John Iball, father George, and George Iball, father Thomas. Did not find a baptism for a George born 1795-1805 when noting down all Hawarden, Buckley & Mold baptisms, nor does he appear in the 1841C! .

Would be really interested to know how you are descended from John please? All my research I have put on a website that I could point you to
