Abraham Graham Huddersfield
« on: Saturday 16 May 09 13:31 BST (UK) »
I have an Abraham  born approx. 1804 and it says on census information junior,  Do you know of any baptisms in Huddersfield area that could be his father?
I did find an Abraham born 1682 in Kirkheaton  and he had a son Abraham b. 1724 also Kirkheaton.

I have found Abraham 29 Apr 1804 to Joseph and Mary but the word junior is confusing me

Thanks Wendy.

Personally I don't think it says Junior.  The first letter is nothing like the J in Joe a bit higher up the page.  If anything it starts with an S as in Servant lower down so possibly Senior?  Did he have a son called Abraham?

Thanks Andrea,  Yes he did have a son Abraham b.1838,
It has always made much more sense that he was the son of Joseph and Mary, who was also a mason,

I just wanted someone else to agree or disagree,
Wendy.

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

HI Dobby,

Wow!   You must have been up half the night to find all of that.

I only had found a couple of those  so most of it is new.   I have now to fit it all together, and see where it leads.

You have given dates of burial for my Joseph and Mary which explains why I couldn't find them on the census. Also the Thomas in Kirkheaton cemetary  a mason needs looking into.

Thanks again for all the work and keep in touch Wendy.
