Looking for any information on Donald McDonald, a sea captain from Scotland, whose daughter Catherine Amelia McDonald was born Demerara in 1831. She married in Duntocher, Scotland in 1852 to John Kane. Donald's wife was Mary Williamson but I can not trace either her or Donald, or found what they were doing in Guyana. Could this have been the sugar trade? Any info most welcome.
