"Sea Service"
« on: Tuesday 23 June 09 01:55 BST (UK) »
My last visit to the Library produced no chinks in the Powell brick wall ... however I did find another Charles Powell, who arrived in Oz in October of 1829 (too early for my bloke!) aboard the "William Young" ... and whose occupation was noted as "Sea Service".

While this fellow doesn't look to be one of mine, his occupation has me puzzled.  Any suggestions as to what his job might actually have been?
I live in Sydney, Australia, and I'm researching: Powell, Tatham, Dunbar, Dixon, Mackwood, Kinnear, Mitchell, Morgan, Delves, & Anderson
