Hiya Ripples,

Four families named Hughes of Castleblayney (C'blayney) are mentioned in Griffiths Valuation of Ireland http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths.php for the county when the Valuation took place there 1858-60. I also looked for McShane in Drumacon .. no mention of a McShane family in a place of that name although a McShane family did live in Avalreagh townland in the parish of Clontibret.

Best Wishes, Chris

Thomas Hughes married Sarah Ann Harrison (b. 1890).  Harrisons were of Castleblayney.

This thread is from 2005 and the person who started it hasn't been online in over 11 years.

The Hughes in their surname interests (bottom of their post) were born long before 1890s.
