Rev Henry Gamble
(9 May 1793 - before 5 February 1867)
Rev Henry Gamble was christened on 9 May 1793 at Shankill, Lurgan, Armagh, Ireland. He was the son of Henry and Ann (nee Cutliffe). His father was the curate of the church for over 20 years. Henry was educated at Old Blundells School, Devon.
Henry studied for a BA awarded in 1815 at Exeter College, Oxford University, from between 1811 and 1815.
Rev Henry Gamble married Elizabeth de Vere Law in 1816 at Barnstaple, Devon. They had 8 known children. Henry married again, in 1854 at Hove, Brighton, Caroline Fisgard a widow. She died in Clifton in 1861.
Rev Henry Gamble was employed by He was some time incumbent of Newport, Barnstaple, but also at times, served other churches in North Devon and Cornwall including Mortehoe during the absence of the vicar, between 1815 & 1821 and Launcells (Vicar 1832 instituted March 27th). was a clergyman, England. Henry was the first incumbent at Clifton, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, England, in 1846.
Rev Henry Gamble married Caroline Fisgard in 1854 at Hove, Sussex.
Henry died before 5 February 1867 at Clifton, Ashbourne, Derbyshire. He was buried on 5 February 1867 at Clifton.
