More mystery witnesses
« on: Wednesday 22 July 09 21:21 BST (UK) »
Any idea of the names of these witnesses to a wedding in 1838?

The woman is clearly Elizabeth and I thought the surname might be Fisher. There was an Elizabeth and Ebenezer Fisher in Bilston in 1841 - but the first name doesn't look like Ebenezer to me.

Any other suggestions?

The bottom name looks like Elizabeth Fisher, and the top E....... Fisher - have been trying to think of a man's name beginning with E which fits but have failed.  Perhaps both witnesses female?

I'd go with "Eutychus Fisher"

Yes, same here.

I thought, "can't be many of them", but a quick search found several born around that time . . .
