Hi,

I believe that the Richard Nicholas you are seeking is my great grandfather. He was born in Paul in Cornwall - my father is visiting the village this weekend.

His wife was Mary Bond - I am not sue from where in Cornwall she originated but my father has researched some of the details and has more information. I will speak with him on his return.

Some of Richard's children were born in Cornwall, some in Cardiff, but I will get you some more details in due course.

Hi Alocin66,

Many thanks for your pm this morning - please forgive this posting but as a new member to rootschat I cannot yet use the pm system.

Edwin, b. 1893 is my grandfather.

I spoke to Dad today, he told me that Richard Nicholas' wife, Mary Bond, was from St Austell. Dad will be back in a week or so and we can send you all the details he has then.

Best Regards,

Zephod44

I see in your posting you have Mary Nankervis - daughter of Alice Nankervis.

Did you ever find out if this is the correct marriage?

If so I have 5 pages of the Roath Parish of Cardiff Poor-Relief payments where Alice Nankervis of 29 Shakespeare Street is receiving Poor-Relief from 1901-1904.

She died in 1905.

Thanks,

Darin.

Hello Troops,
I am seeking information for a Nankervis friend who has an attachment to Cornwall. Do you have any info on Nankervis's in this line that may have come to Australia? If yes their main destination would have been Ballarat.

cheers
Jack Gee
