Anna Crawford Larne Antrim 1915
« on: Wednesday 19 August 09 01:51 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for any connections to my grandmother Anna Isabell?(Isobel) Crawford. Born about 1915 in Larne, Northern Ireland. I think her and her family (8 - 10 brothers and sisters, parents?) emmigrated to Sydney, Australia about 1925. She married Ivo (r) Maurice Thew in 1930 in Ardlethan, New South Wales, Australia. Would appreciate any help as I have no other information. Many thanks in anticipation, much appreciated.

There is a birth record for Anna Isabell Crawford
Registration in the district of Larne
Registration date - quarter and year: Jan - Mar 1915
Film number: 101076
Volume: 1
Page: 580

If you apply to the General Register office GRONI at http://www.groni.gov.uk/index/order_certificates.htm
it will cost £6 when you supply the registration district, Volume and page number. That will give you her parents names address, occupations etc..
When you get that info, post it here and we can find her parents marriage details etc..
You may be able to find the family in the 1911 census at : http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

Welcome to Rootschat. As Otto has said, once you have the names of Anna's parents there's probably information we can find for you or suggest where to check next.
See here for ordering N.I. certificates-

Anna Isabel (Isabell)l Crawford was born 29 December 1914 in Tureagh/Toreagh, Raloo parish, parents John Crawford and Mary Agnes Apsley. There are two civil records of her birth due to errors by the Registrar in the first one.
From the available records 2 sibling found: Martha Logan Barkley Crawford born 17 Nov 1913 and Mary Crawford born 17 Jan 1917.
Marriage: John Crawford, farmer, Raloo, son of John Gordon Crawford, farmer, married Mary Agnes Apsley, Ballyrickert, daughter of John Barkley, farmer, on 05 December 1913 in Glenarm 1st Presbyterian Meetinghouse, parish of Tickmacrevan,
John Crawford was born 16 Sept 1883 in Raloo, and his mother was Martha Logan Barkley.
