Hi

His death reg shows he was born in August 1905.  A copy of his death cert will tell you who reported his death etc which may help you with your enquiries

The reference is June qtr 1979 Keighley Vol 4 Page 0723

There are 2 births shown on freebmd for that period but neither were in Yorkshire

Births September qtr 1905

Francis Joseph Woods   Chester  8a 395  (Cheshire)
Francis Joseph Woods     Aston  6d 430 (Warwickshire)

hi carole w

yes the one in chester is the correct man i do have his birth and death certs, the problem i have is that when he divorced my grandmother and went onto marry again i assume in skipton my mother had no contact with him which was not of her own doing, my mum would have loved to remain in contact with her dad francis but i suppose that is how it was then,  and as we do not know his second family we are unable to find out any info,  my poor mum does not even have a photo and i have never seen what he looks like, i find it is all so sad,
anyway thankyou for your reply

Hi

If his death was reported by a member of the family, it should show that persons name, address and relationship

It should also show the usual address of the deceased- not just where he died

All of that info could be used to trace his second family

hi carole w,

yes it does give the details you mentioned, please forgive my stupidity but have you any ideas where would be the best place to start as i do not live in england, have you any suggestions, as francis was in his 70's in 1979 i would doubt if his wife would be living now and i do not know who is children were called from his second marriage or who they may have married,
thankyou once again for your patience

Hello Carole

Francis Joseph Woods is my Father.  I am trying to find out about him, his family and his life prior to marrying my Mother Elizabeth Rigby.

It sounds as though we are closely related.

I would love to hear from you and share what we know about our family.

Kind regards
Gill
