Goodness me!  One of the Livery Companies of London is "The Worshipful Company of Paviors."

"Records of the Paviors date back to 1280, when Paviors were first made
responsible for the repair and cleaning of London's streets and pavements."

It's RG10/614/50/22 [from the correct transcription on f*ndmyp*st].

Good old *nc*stry has him indexed as Gephenk Bridson. He is living with a Mary Anthony aged 20. Neither have stated their 'condition' as to marraige.

Wonder if the Livery Company still have records? If he was a master paviour he may have been registered with them.

I think they did rather well to get the first letter of the surname to be B.  He was a Mason.
