This is the names of godparents/sponsors. I'm not sure but I think they are all seamen.  Could you post the reference so I can look at the original and get a better idea of the writing?

Hello Isabel,
I don't have the actual reference, as this was sent to me by another researcher. It is the birth of Elizabeth Kirstine Boss November 1816. Her parents are Arent Boss and Ellen Elizabeth Hansdatter from what I can read. Thanks so much for trying.

Jean

Thanks also IGS for the forum link, I haven't been on that site.

This is what I am seeing so far:
C (Captain?) of ship: Nicolai Victormanns (Victomanns?) H. Ardne ___ Hans ? ___; Ship ____ ? Annd Frederike; ___man Niels ____, Seaman bachelor Hans Jacob Madssen; Seaman bachelor Robbert ____hanssen

Captain is Kaptajn in Danish, but ship seems to be in English
Sømand = Seaman; Ungk = Ungkarl = bachelor, but karl can be a farmhand so perhaps Sømand Ungk should be deckhand?

I'll have another try tomorrow.

I think the  occupation  of Niels is kjøbmand (merchant), but his last name is hard to read (starts with Ma?)
Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

I found it, and it does help to see the other entries on the page. The ref. is www.arkivalieronline.dk, Kirkebøger, 1816, Bornholm, Vester, Rønne Købstad, Opslag 65.
Elsebet Kirstine Boss, b. 24 Nov. bap. in church 8th Dec., parents: Seaman Arendt Boss and Ellen Elisabet Hansdatter.

I'm not entirely sure what the abbreviations are, but each person's occupation comes before their name, and the "H" (if that's what it is), seems to indicate the wife's name.  The first letter could be an old-style B, or a C.

C(Captain?) and Skipper(?) Nicolai Victomanns [there is a Nicolai Wichmann in the censuses, could it be that?], Anne Katrine Hansdatter ___; Skipper Schrøder D.(datter?) Anne(Annd?) Frederike; Merchant Niels M____ ; Seaman bachelor Hans Jacob Madsen; Seaman bachelor Robbert  Christiansen.

"Skipper Schrøder D.(datter?) Annd(?) Frederike" is confusing. In the censuses I found  "Ane Frederick Skrøder" who was a skipper, so it might be him, but in that case I don't know what the  "D" stands for.
That is the best I can do - hope it helps.

Thank you Isabel and jorose,

I appreciate your help, it is certainly very tricky to read. I guess 200year old documents that have been scanned a few times are going to prove difficult.
I will try and delve a little further with the info you have all uncovered. ;)

Many thanks
Jean

Isabel,
I have just noticed your further help. Thank you so much, what a star you are. :)
