24 st.vincent crescent?!?

hi everyone...my greatgrandfather died at 24 st.vincent street, glasgow.

i have looked into it and cannot seem to find evidence at any time of this place being a hospital!!

can anyone shed any light?

Hi, do you have a date of his death? Maybe we can find him in the censuses? What makes you think he died in a hospital?  If there's a death certificate, it will give the place of death & also his usual residence. Sorry I'm not familiar with Glasgow but there are plenty of old maps to view on www.nas.gov.uk.

In 1899, this address became the offices of The Evening Citizen newspaper, according to the ever-reliable Wikipedia.

No record of when they ceased using it.

The Evening Citizen was at St. Vincent Place.  I've looked on the valuation rolls and cannot find 24 St. Vincent Street.

Just came upon another post on the Lanarkshire board entitled 7 Bridgegate Glasgow. The 3rd post mentions a manse on St Vincent St, maybe the poster Skoosh will be able to help you.
