Marriage perhaps in Wickwar, ca 1829 or earlier
« on: Friday 01 January 10 09:15 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Can anyone find a ref to a marriage of James Rymer (Rimer etc too of course) and Elizabeth? She was born ca 1800, Wickwar, and their only child for whom I have a date was born ca 1830. But he may well have been the 5th child in which case the marriage might be quite a lot earlier.

Thanks in advance, happy new year,
Jamie.

   Hi......

Do you have them in any census ie 1841 /1851 as there are more children?

If they are the ones in Tidenham in 1851 they have a daughter Susannah who marries there in 1858 ...details give a clue ...

Charles Young full age farmer  father Samuel Young farmer of Thornburn
Susannah Rymer  full age spin father James Rymer  farmer Tidenham
 both signed
 witnesses  John Pullin Rymer
                   Elizabeth Rymer

Wickwar has 2 Elizbeth Pullin baptisms
Elizabeth Pullin 8 Apr 1800 to Joseph & Elizabeth
Elizabeth Pullin 19 feb 1801 to Thos. Pullin & Ann Briard.

Brilliant!
Yes, they did have a daughter Susanna, also a son John who might be the John Pullin Rymer who was a witness.

And Pullin looks a very good bet to be the mother's name - typical there should be two of them, though.

Thank you so much, Tazzie!

Regards,
Jamie.

Would you like 1841 & 1851 census with more children listed?

   Okey Dokey.......

Check out the Forset of Dean site if you haven't already as Tidenham is on there with parish records for the family.
