WOW, talk about synchronicity. Guess what just arrived in my in box from St George's Penang!!!!

"Thank you for you email of January 12, 2010 with regards to tracing the baptism record of your great grandfather Francis Maxwell Allan who was born in Penang. According to our record in the Baptism Register book, Francis Maxwell was baptised on February 22, 1879 at St.George's Church, Penang. His parents were recorded as John and Lucy Margaret Allan. John's trade was a Merchant. The chaplain's name was John Walker."

There are 3 John All*n deaths in Renfrew in 1909 but none in Johnstone.

There was a Walter Scott Allan born Penang in 1868, died Vancouver 1943. Listed as "Scott Allan" , farmer, in the 1911 census for British Columbia, Canada. A Lieutenant in the CEF. Possible sibling?
