Unidentified house nr Reading

Please can anyone identify this house? It was posted on 27 Dec 1911 from Reading.

The ONLY thing I can suggest is searching on the 1911 census for "House" in the place-name in the districts of Reading , Wokingham, Caversham (which is north of the river) and seeing if any photos turn up from a google search.

It's not familiar, that's for sure.

As an ex resident of Berkshire I have been looking into this too, but I'm afraid its not any I can think of. 

Maybe a link on the Berkshire board might bring up some more local input.

It might be worth checking out hotels in the area, since many large country houses became hotels.  I've stayed in quite a few hotels in the Reading area (I used to work for a company based in Caversham), and although it reminds me a little of the Aldermaston Manor, it isn't anywhere near as grand.
