Marriage in Melton Mowbray

I am trying to find the marriage of Samuel Woolley to Lucy Oldham at Melton Mowbray, they had a son Samuel born in 1808. Can someone help please?

Hi Carole,

I have searched my parish registers for Melton and surrounding districts but have not been able to locate a marriage for this pair. There are other Woolley / variants found but not yours. Are you certain that they married in Melton?

Berks/ Sussex: Dearlove, Carter, Marchant.

No I am not certain, it was a wild guess as Lucy Oldham's family lived in Melton Mowbray for a long time and others in her family were all married in the Parish Church there I had hoped Lucy did too, perhaps being the youngest of 5 children she was the black sheep on the family and left home.

                      I have found a marriage of Saml Woolley to Lucy Oldham in 1807 in kensington, on Pallot's Marriage Index for England: 1780 - 1837
