Wormald & Walker Mill Dewsbury
« on: Monday 03 May 10 19:14 BST (UK) »
Hi All
For those of you who have relatives working in the mill circa 1932 you might want to take a look at the link below.
It's from the Yorkshire Film Archive Online, I started watching and was facinated. My Grandmother met her second husband whilst working at this mill 10 years later.

Not just the Wormald and Walker film but all the other wonderful films on the site. I can see some serious downloading ahead.

The site is excellent. Great films.   Wonder if the link can be added to West Riding resources board?

Seems a pity to know about such a resource and not have it available to other RCers who don't read this post.

Hi,Thank you for the link to the film.
My mother is the youngest daughter of John Wormald who owned the mill and ran it until he died in 1956.
My Mum was chuffed to bits to see the film.
Thanks,Mark

Dear Mark Beaumont, I am
Currently researching Wormald and Walkers for a local history documentary I'm writing/filming. I stumbled across this thread and was wondering if your mum was still local and if she would be interested in talking about the mill etc on camera?
It would be great to hear from you
Many thanks
Simon
