Collins family from Benington in Hertford. Father James b: early 1800, children, William 1832, Charlotte 1838, Emma 1841, George 1844, Henry 1849. James m: Frances CATLIN 16/11/1828 Ardeley in Hertford. Any help would be appreciated. Have one of the children, Henry in Hackney.Thanks.......Lyn

I know this is an old post but I am researching the Collins families from Bennington Hertfordshire. Looking for information on Richard born abt 1797 and Jemima (poss. Edwards) Collins born abt 1798. Children: Emma (abt 1822), Charles (abt 1823) moved to Chiswick, Middlesex 1871-1881, George (abt 1826), John (abt 1828), Henry (abt 1830), Thomas (abt 1832), James (abt 1834), Joseph (abt 1837), Richard (abt 1840). Connecting with this family via Charles who was my husbands great grandfather. Do we have a possible connection with this line of Collins? Looking to find Richards marriage and parentage information. Look forward to hearing from you.

Richard Collins is my 4x gt grand Uncle. I have Richard Collins b c 1788 Bennington, son of George Collins & Jane Lowen. Richard married Jemima Edwards 08 May 1819 Bennington. Their son Charles, b c 1824 Bennington, marriage regd 1850 Epping Essex. Spouse Lizzy Goodhew. 1901 Charles & Lizzy living - 2, Hogarth Lane, Chiswick, ( reg dist Brentford ) Middlesex.

:o I posted on this 2 years ago and then forgot about the forum altogether. I am still researching my Husbands family. Collins of Hertfordshire and Chiswick.

Lyn, my research shows Richard Collins father of Charles Collins who married Lizzey Goodhew was born in 1797. You have stated birth year as 1788. Now I am confused as to which is correct.

I shall try to keep up to date with this forum now.
