Hi.
I today checked for Peter Gilroy in a register of trinity college Dublin alumni for the period up to 1820
And found no record of him. However the librarian in the royal college of physicians of Ireland suggested that Scottish medical schools might be worth trying. After some Google attempts I finally hit lucky.
At www.archives. lib.ed.ac.UK/alumni/  I put Gilroy in the search box and got 1 hit. Peter Gilroy Mr  in 1807!!!
And his signature on an attached page.

Could be your Peter

HI, thank you for this. I have tried to access this, but I keep getting the message on this page - connection to database failed. Is it possible you could PM this record? Many thanks for your help.

Hi again, sorry for my mistyping on my previous post , I left a blank in the link. (It comes from trying to reply on my phone, rather than using the computer) anyway the link should have been www.archives.lib.ed.ac.UK/alumni/

I will also send you a PM as you requested. I will put any images I find in a folder on Dropbox.
Regards

Thanks so much. Shane thanks for the marriage. This I did not have and this is my direct line (Gilroy/Henderson). I just googled Dunmee Co Meath and nothing came up. Does anyone know anything about this place?. I take it that Ardbraccan Church was Catholic? More leads which is great. Thanks everyone.

Apologies - that should be Dunmoe not Dunmee. I must get my eyes tested again...

The marriage of Alfred and Jane is also listed on the www.irishgenealogy.ie website. and St Peters church is Church of Ireland, not Catholic. Jane's address is given as Rathmines and Alfred's as Navan.

Note you have to retype in a number shown as a "Capcha" as a security device on this site. Some attempt  to make sure it is a person accessing the records, not a computer.

The original register page is not available yet, only a transciption.

Also the church in Ardbraccan is Church of Ireland.  However the RCB Library website in its listing of surviving church registers says only 1875 baptism register survive, along with marriages from 1845-1955 and deaths 1874-1875.

But the good news from RCB is that they do have Registers for Clones in Co Monaghan births from 1682-2001 marriages 1689-1989.  Which might show daughter births mentioned earlier ??

Cheers
