Hi Sharon,
I do think we might be looking at the same family but I must admit I am struggling a bit.
I am directly descended from Samuel as he is my 4 x gt grandfather.
My 3 x great grandmother is Elizabeth Ealing (1828-1917), daughter of Samuel Ealing, bargeman. She married James Morris in 1861.
I have looked at the Samuel Ealing/Mary King marriage but as you will see from Trish's posting on this thread the marriage record says he was only 22 in 1826, so I am not sure. His age has been a bit fluid depending on which record you look at but the 1861 and 1871 census and his death in 1876 all point to a date of birth circa 1781-1785 but the baptism I have found in Chertsey is dated 1793
.
The children I have for Samuel are (which fit in very well with the date of the Mary King marriage):-
Ann bap 11 Mar 1827 (born c1827)
Elizabeth bap 9 Jan 1831 (born 1c828) - married James Morris in 1861
Mary born c1829 - married William Smith
Jane bap 23 Feb 1833 (born c1833) - married Charles Ballard in 1864
James bap 25 Dec 1834 (born c1834) - didn't marry as far as I can see - living with the his sister, Mary Smith in 1881 and his sister, Jane Ballard in 1891;
I don't have Samuel who married Ann Maria Green but he would fit in quite nicely with the other siblings being born in 1831. So I would definitely be interested on anything you have on him.
I can't find Samuel (senior) in the census prior to 1861 so have hit a brickwall with him.
What do you think?
