Thomas Leiper - Born Avondale 1745

Hi Monica
I know this is the problem, so many fathers with the same name makes it all very confusing but some of the information I've gained from the websites you told me about has been very helpful.  I'm pretty sure Thomas' father, also Thomas did marry a Helen Hamilton in 1731 and had six or more children.  I know Thomas Snr was a Maltman/Innkeeper in Avondale but not sure if there is a connection to the Leipers who were mostly farmers in the area.  Thanks to you and Sancti.

In support of the name Helen Hamilton for Thomas' mother, am I right in thinking one of his daughters was called Helen Hamilton Leiper?

That's amazing Monica.  I don't know the names of Thomas Jnr's children but as he had 13 I'm pretty sure one of them would have been called after his mother.
