1901 census - Jones
« on: Thursday 05 August 10 15:06 BST (UK) »
Request lookup in 1901 census for David William Jones, born about 1879 in Llancynfelin, Cardiganshire (or Taliesin, Cardiganshire), father Jonathan Jones, born 1849 in Carno, Montgomeryshire.

In 1902 David  married Sarah Ann Jones of Carno, Montgomeryshire and I have a sneaking suspicion he was in the Carno area in 1901.

Also request lookup for Sarah Ann Jones born Carno in 1880 - there may also be a baby, Jonathan Jones born 1901.

Dave

I'm not sure of David's occupation but he was definitely born in Cardiganshire.   The entry you have may well be him as the entry for Sarah looks correct - baby Jonathan was hers and she married David William Jones in 1902.   They then settled in Carno, she died 1959 in Llanwnog and he in 1963 in Carno.

Thanks, Dave

Hi again Dave,
This is definitely my grandma jones' family. On the 1881 Census in Carno I found Richard Jones age 32, Head, married, born in Carno, listed as Ag Laborer with his wife Mary, age 24, married, wife, born in Carno and Sarah A, 1, daughter, born in Carno. In the 1891 Census I found a brother Richard born about 1882 in Carno (9) then a John Edward Jones born about 1885 in Carno, then Margaret Jane Jones born about 1890 In Carno
