Adkin Family
« on: Monday 16 August 10 23:28 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the Adkin family.  Frank Adkin b 1883 in Middlesbrough married Harriet Cope b 1884.  They emigrated to Nove Scotia via Liverpool with their four children in 1928.  Can anyone help?

www.ancestry.ca

Has family trees with death of Frank Adkin (spouse Harriet Cope) in Manitoba. I don't have a subscription to ancestry so can't look any further.

http:automatedgenealogy.com

Has a great number of surname Cope's on the 1911 census living in Manitoba.

Is it possible that the family arrived in Halifax in 1927 with the intention of going west to Manitoba.

I checked the site for deaths and didn't find anything in Nova Scotia.

I had a look at a few of the trees on Ancestry.  It appears that at least a couple were put on by grandchildren of Frank and Harriet.

Gilliano, it might be worth trying to contact the owners of these trees via Ancestry to further your search for information in Canada.

Destination listed on the passenger list for the Cedric was the Land Settlement Office in Winnipeg, Manitoba - they were going to take up farming.

William Adkin may also be buried at Brookside Cemetery as well as perhaps his wife Mildred Marie Lucerne Adkin.
The date of death for William is 10/11/1984 so you may be able to get the obituary through the Winnipeg Public Library. The library has an "Ask a Librarian" under the Contact Us section.
