McKays in 1830's
« on: Sunday 03 April 05 21:41 BST (UK) »
Am looking for Charles McKay, his wife Margaret and their daughter Rebecca.  From the Scotland 1871 Census, I have found that Rebecca was born in County Donegal around 1837.

From Rebecca's death entry, I found that Charles was a farmer, and her mother's maiden name is LINDSAY.

Rebecca married David POTTS of County Armagh, and their children were all born in Scotland.

Thanks in advance for any help!

On my side: Preuss, Werling, Koeneman, Sodtmann in Indiana and Germany; Spies, Jones, Shack, Schooley, Evans, St. Clair in America.
On my husband's: Walton, Lincoln, Hibbert, Harrop, Turner in Lancashire and Derby; Flannery, Potts, Pottons, McKay, Lindsay in Scotland; Santangelo and Sedita in Sicily.

Hello,

Charles McCay and Daniel McCay, both of Glassmullan, Mintiaghs or Barrof, Inch, Co. Donegal
were listed as the head of their respective households.

I did spot several McKays in other parishes in the county but there was not a  Charles.
This does not mean he was not there, he and his family could have been living with his parents.
