On June 18, 1860, a Philemon Richards was living in North Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island with James and Betsey Taylor.  Both he and James are shoemakers and all three are listed as from "England". He is listed as 57 years old, which would put his birth about 1803.  This would make sense with an arrival in Boston.  In 1870, he is no longer living with the family, but I cannot find him again.

Thank you Lisa, dbath and karenlee.

Certainly learnt more to add to my tree, Phelimon Richards was my Great Grandfather x 4, he left 3 grown up children in England all married.

Any chance of finding when he died?

I also cannot find him on an 1870 census.

This seems rather late to be a connection, but...

There is a Philemon Richards in/around Philadelphia c1880.  He has something to do with tacks/nails.  I cannot yet determine where or when he was born.  I believe his patent was dated 1870, Philadelphia so he probably isn't your man.

Philomen Richard, widow of Joseph.  Eliminates the connection with Pawtuxet Valley.

1900 Philadelphia census
Philemon Richards(?), born Jan 1821, Wales, no occupation given
Eliminates the connection with Philadelphia.

It looks like Philemon was last seen in Pawtucket c1869 (he could have passed away prior to the printing of the directory).

Did Philemon have a brother named William B?  On the 1869-1870 Pawtucket directory is William B Richards, shoemaker, 11 Main, h. George, n. Cedar
Philemon is also in this directory; same information as the 1869 directory.
William B is also in the 1869 directory.

Philemon and William B are not listed in the 1871 alphabetical Pawtucket directory.
