Trish - thank you, that is very useful. Do you also have anything on any children born there?

That is all I could find. I am in Australia so only use on line free sites for info which you can also use from Texas.

www.freereg.org.uk
www.familysearch.org (this one you have to register with but its free to search)

Trish :)

Hello PiaKate

Glad to be of help. Richard was not, as far as I know named James but the records of that time are sketchy and only give basic details like first names and not the second.

Burial details: Elizabeth Carter (never married) 19/2/1806
John Carter, Esq. 28/9/1810  aged 86

Marriage:  Henry CARTER, Clerk of Deal to Ann Wilhelmina BENJAMIN, minor with parents' consent.
Witnesses: John Carter, Thomas Pennington

I have various burials and marriages but no proof of connection with these Carters.
all the other male Carters seemed too be married outside the parish

Regards

AJ
