RECOGNITION OF SERVICES TO ROOTSCHAT

Earlier today I noticed that Grub (Valerie) had retired from her position as Moderator on the USA Board and Global Moderator on many and is now a Rootschat Honorary.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to Valerie for her valuable assistance, expertise and guidance that she has personally given me over my short time on Rootschat and I am indebted to her.

Everyone will be aware of all the free hours and time she has devoted in performing not only the “house-keeping” duties of Global Moderator but helping many, many Rootschat members since joining in 2004.

"A volunteer job, Valerie took for the love of the genealogy "obsession" and not done for any glory"  - but she does deserve the "glory"

Valerie, you will be sorely missed, you are a fabulous person, terrific researcher and I wish you all the best for the future.  Hope we can “team” up when you have the time to do some occasional research.

With Very Best Wishes For The  Future
All The Very Best
Thank You.
Regards
Sandra  :-* :-*

Valerie !
How you managed to juggle so many boards and still be so helpful on the Canada board, I just can't imagine. Your generosity, and time involved were seldom praised and yet so much appreciated. Your p.m. box was always full of favours/ requests from me...and I am sure from tons of others as well, but you always somehow managed to get on them right away! You'll be missed as a mod, but finally you can enjoy the site from our point of view.... A lot more more relaxed one...

Ode to the Grubby Wun!

She done her stint now, as a mod...
(She's done it now, for years)
Shes worked so hard, it may seem odd...
( she knows all our frontiers)

Her p.m. box no longer filled
    (Whatever will she do?)
        Hopefully remain within our guild,
( with rootschat , me, and you...)

See you on the boards!!!  Lotsa Luv,  Jeany ( oops, they know my name, now)

Hi Valerie: I got a PM from Sandra mentioning your "retirement" as one of the Moderators here. She suggested that I add a comment, and I quote her request to me:

"Since you are wonderful with words - would you consider adding something for her please  ?"

So I apologize in advance for this display of profundity. I try to keep my talent hidden, like the proverbial light under the even more proverbial bushel basket, reserving it for the most sacred of occasions. I think this is one of those occasions. So here goes. My rapier wit, my Shakespeareian...whatever:

Ah......Um......Er.......Ahem.....[cough]....Unh...Em-m-m....Gee....[choke]....Aw....Gosh....Golly....Hmm...hmm...hmm....I'm sorry....I'm.... too....too....overwhelmed...to...go....on..... :'( :'( :'(

Regards,
John
