Joseph Family - Llanddeusant
« on: Friday 17 September 10 11:23 BST (UK) »
Good morning,

I am looking for information on David Joseph c1800, he was married in 1820 to Ann Thomas (Widow) who was according to 1841/1851 census was 20 years older than him. in 1841 they are at Aberdynfant?? llandeusant, carmarthenshire.

They had the following children, joseph joseph 1821 and Mary Joseph 1824 (Have loads of info on them already), but what i would really like is any birth/parents/siblings info on David and Ann. Davids occupation is Farmer/Auctioneer.

Many Thanks

Hello :)

There is a submitted record on LDS site which is a possibility:
David Joseph christened on 29th SEP 1798 at Llandilo Vawr, Carmarthen, Wales
Son of Joseph Williams and Catherine

(Welsh patronymic naming after David's father)

Hello again  :)

Another item worth looking at is the will of John Joseph dated 28th June 1809:

http://hdl.handle.net/10107/221734

John Joseph was a farmer and the place looks like Llanthoysain in the County of Carmarthen, (which is Llanddeusant). He mentions his 3 children: eldest son David John Joseph, youngest son John John Joseph, and daughter Mary John Joseph.......when each of them to attain the age of one and twenty years [which suggests that they were minors in 1809]. Also mentions Ann John Joseph, his illegitimate daughter! His beloved wife Jane John Joseph to be executrix and administrix.

There is also an inventory of the property of John Joseph.

Best wishes
Morgan
